History of Comics and Graphic Novel`

I actually had an interest in reading this comic when I was first known about it around 2016. I really love this art style. its brush strokes and storytelling panels are so nice to look at. theres so much details in each panels and the styling suits the old west setting it takes place in. also I just want to point out how organic the female prostitute is drawn. shes shown with some extra weight around her waist and stomach. but still a sensual character she isn't drawn to be gross or ugly as a lot of artists make heavier women depicted to be in their art styles, infact she has sex with a male character and its drawn in an erotic manner.

I first started read this series when it was newly made, but went on hiatus due to the web comic's site having problem with its code I think. Ava's demon is created by Michelle Czajkowski. Michelle Czajkowski formerly worked for Dreamworks and interned for Pixar for animation purposes.Michelle left to make Ava's demon a science fiction web comic with a mix of demonology. the format Michelle chose to make Ava's demon is like painted storyboards, each page is basically a whole image digitally painted over. during the series there are sequences of animation for each chapter the story about Ava Ire who is a miserable character who forms a demon pact to kill the space tyrant Titan who conquered the world of Wrathia ( the demon queen who makes a pact with Ava). Ava in return will receive a new life where people care for her. but she has to kill ...

I know hellboy from the movies that are being streamed on netflix. I only watched one movie though, but it was enjoyable. The comic has its own shenanigans, one involving the brain of Adolf Hitler being put on an ape and having the ability to use physic manipulation to attack Hellboy, who had previously killed Hitler in World War II after Hitler tried to fake a suicide. Hilarity ensures for the audience as Hellboy and the Officer Dragon who join forces to fight the first some vampires, a Giant mummy, a lochness monster; and my favorite un-dead pirates who came from a nearby lake. Even Hellboy asks "what kind of pirates are these?".Eventually even hellboy and dragon are made to fight each other with Dragon having the upper hand. Then Ape-hitler arrives on a bike to see Hellboy be killed himself but is outmatched by hellboy and Dragon. So Hitler's brain literally tries to escapee and I mean LITERALLY. The fountain is a comicbook that ties to the movie of the same name.the premise is interesting but its written in a very confusing manner with a an art style that doesnt help the story very much. from the synosypisi on the front pages its a about a man who tries to save the woman he loves through different generations and timelines and i thought it would a compelling story to follow which is why i chose it. but then it took a weird turn. its actually about one celestial being in space with a tree traveling through what i assume is space trying to save the tree. apparently the tree is dying and the man is trying to save through the dreams the man gets through meditating with the tree. then one day the tree does die or is dead, and he cant accept it so he does out of his safe space around the tree to grab a comet that will save this celestial tree from dying but in doing so, he is unable to return to the sphere with the tree and becomes lost.  then it goes to a story about a medic ...

I read Ranma 1/2 for the week of Japanese comics in our class. I chose this book for the nostalgia I had for it. I read this book at around 12 which probably isn't appropriate to read at that age considering the nudity. But regardless of that i really enjoyed the concept of the series and brought me into reading comics, and for a while i only read manga because it was easier to follow Japanese comics as you only have to keep up with one title rather than research online to find what next issue I have to read to continue a story arc I was invested in. I think for this reason that manga and anime have gained more popularity in the West. Ranma 1/2 incorporates a lot of  Japanese culture and references to mythology. Which got me invested in Japanese as a whole because i had to research a lot of the concepts presented in the manga. 1. what is your reaction to the text you just read? I thought the story was pretty good until the ending, I think it showed a sinister side to all of the villains of superman who up until this comic event were pretty harmless. I was kind of shocked that bizarro had committed genocide i don't know if he had killed until this point. but the fact that it was Mxypltz behind the rouse i felt a little let down by that reveal as its not a very recurring character in today's comic villains as he isn't dark enough for writers to use in the new52. 2. John Lewis' comic on march is really inspirational. it starts on the day of the inauguration of Barack Obama. Two kids visit him in office to hear his story of how much of a journey he went through to get equal rights. John Lewis starts with talking about his chickens and how much he cared for them to go to school, even going against his family's wishes to have him help with the farm.he then tells the kids about the struggle of being black in a segregated country, having to travel up through the south without stopping in fear for their safety. while this is a good introduction to the events that lead to the march up in Washington the story doesn't really gain traction until we reach the sit ins at white only restaurants. I think its interesting that the author starts his story with the use of a hitler quote "Jews are undoubtedly a race but they're not human" and proceeds to draw the Jews in this story as anthropomorphic mice.In the first sequence is about Artie crying that his friends left him behind skating. Artie's father Vladek says you'll find who your real friends are when you and them are tied to a tree with nothing to eat. I think because the Polish were called pigs. the art style is woodcut like and transitions of the comics are. I like format of how it goes from the artist and his father talking about the story of the Nazis and the holocaust to back to their current.I find the personality of the father to be humorous to balance out the seriousness of the holocaust.there also seems to be some sort of behavioral pattern that the artist draws to about his father.he'll go from throwing out Artie's coat and replacing it to picking up wires on the street,and not wan...

So... I have to say I was kind of uncomfortable reading Mickey mouse with a sexual nature to it.I can see how Disney takes their copyright seriously as their company takes their image very seriously. I know from experience because I used to work at Walt Disney World and you would get fired right away. I dont think these comics were written to challenge the norm of the comic book industry in a mindful way. there is power in sexuality, but i think this for slapping Disney's family values in his face. If Im honest I dont even find humor in this comic because i dont think it makes sense and it might be intentional it just feels sloppy in execution. It was probably distributed as a parody of Disney but it feel detrimental to genre of parody. Well normally I dont read comics or watch media that talk about God unless if its a biblical story. I dont know why but it feels out of place for me to be reading a fictional story about God, or that I'm reading someone else's opinion about belief. which usually doesn't sit well with me as I am raised with a catholic background, strict on using the Lord's name in vain. which is a separate subject on its own but I wanted to write this as a way to say I was bias when I was about to read this comic. But I think this story is good as the contract is a hubris to the main character who thinks God owes him for his hardships and past actions. and a contract means that both parties have to be on equal standing or terms. I read Carl Bank's Donald duck comics which helped bring the whole duck-verse to life which transitioned to Disney Television show "duck tales". I enjoyed the cartoon adventure and shenanigans that Donald did to win, be right, etc. and how he was still somehow the underdog in this series compared to his nephews. but i think that the point since the graphic novel was garnered at young readers. But in same way i like it also because the comic shows that Donald and his nephews rivalry is good natured and still come through for one another. like in one instance Donald tried to outsmart and cheat his way in a horse-race against his nephews but still lost and got fined for disturbing the public, his nephews who won the race gave him the winning money to pay off the fine. Scott McCloud wrote a analysis of a comic within a grander comic. He differentiates what makes comics different from other mediums of entertainment. he says in his in cartoon form "what timing does film, spacing does for comics". his analysis of transitions almost bring me back to film and narrative, in how similar the transitions give a perceive idea like soviet montage. but its also interesting how the panel transitions of comics are similar to other works of authors Herge's Tintin, and any jack kirby superrhero comic have similar transitions but are radically different in the execution and stylistic use of the panels apparently their most common type of transitions were subject to subject and action to action. he then looks over Tezuka's work which i found interesting,he uses a different variety of transitions, in almost equal amount. from subject to subject and action to action,  to one that's almost unique to Japanese manga and thats the Aspect to Aspect ...

I really enjoyed reading Little Nemo, I had known about it from the animated movie that sat on the shelves at blockbuster but never picked up. and to be honest, I'm glad my first interaction with the series was through the comic and not the film because itself is so innovative it wasn't captured by the animated film. I think its so interesting how its basically made for weekly comics, as Winsor McCay writes and draws a whole adventure that starts with nemo sleeping and ends with Nemo Waking up usually fallen out of bed. but what makes Little nemo iconic is  the panels in between the first and last panels. it seems that McCay understands maybe even personally how dreams work, because the panels seem to transition in a way like an actually which is captivating. The Arrival by Shaun Tan was very unique and enjoyable to read it was almost like a looking at film reels of the black and white sort. I think with any story of immigration there is a natural draw to these stories for me.number one, my background is half Mexican-half polish so the feeling of xenophobia and being an immigrant is something I can relate to. The other thing is that people can understand what it feels like to be an outsider, and on some level they can connect with the stories. I think Shaun Tan's stories succeeded in getting people to think about being empathetic to immigrants rather than just assume they they are a problem.  This book lack of words remind of " snowman by Raymond Briggs which I used to read as a kid. and while there are other comics that don't use words either for some reasons this book instantly reminded me of the snowman which I had not thought about in years. when I looked up Shaun Tan's book I found that he had been inspired by the sto...
